In the heart of the Drozhzhanovsky district, among endless fields and quiet woods, there is a place where the past is not just remembered – it is carefully cherished. On July 27, the village of Novye Ishli became the center of spiritual attraction for hundreds of people who gathered for the second commemorative readings dedicated to the Imam Valiulla Khasanov (1883-194?).

The connecting thread of generations
The tragedy of this family – like thousands of other Soviet families – is that the war took away their father, without even leaving a grave. But Valiullah Hazrat’s granddaughter Rima Gumerovna Safiullova, a successful businesswoman and public figure, turned her personal memory into a national treasure.

“For me, grandfather is not just a line in the family album,” says Rima Gumerovna. – This is the man who taught: “If we don’t keep faith and traditions, we will lose ourselves.” Today we are paying back this debt.”

Rima Gumerovna Safiullova, General Director of Agrofirma Kolos LLC (Tatarstan), Vice President of the NGO International Women’s Union, Member of the Charitable Foundation of the International Association of Islamic Business. Deputy of the Syundyukovsky rural settlement of the Tetyushsky municipal district.
Science meets spirituality
The conference was organized by the kaziyat of the southwestern region of Tatarstan, the Drozhzhanovsky Mukhtasibat of the Duma of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Kazan madrasah named after the 1000th anniversary of the adoption of Islam, the World Congress of Tatars with the support of the district administration, as well as the Safiullov family, relatives of Valiulla Khasanov.

The special atmosphere was given by the coincidence with the 30th anniversary of the local mosque, a modest wooden building that has become a real “soul house” for the villagers over the years.
Clothing as a cultural code
The main topic of the conference was traditional Tatar clothing. In the speeches of scientists – Indian Tagirov, Danil Salikhov, Labib Leron – alarm sounded: “The skullcap is disappearing from everyday life, but this is our cultural passport!”

Among the speakers were scientists and researchers of Tatar history and culture.: Hindus Tagirov, Engel Tagirov, Danil Salikhov, Labib Leron, Lenar Gubaidullin, Mingol Galeev, First Deputy Chairman of the National Council of the World Congress of Tatars — Head of the Executive Committee of the CGT Danis Shakirov, as well as well-known religious figures, regional kazy from Tatarstan and neighboring regions.
Awards were given at the conference. In particular, Safiullova Rima Gumerovna was awarded the gratitude of the head of the Drozhzhanovsky district, as well as the International Humanitarian Academy “Europe-Asia” awarded the title of “Ambassador of Peace” and other awards.
Workshops have become a practical answer.:
The art of tying a scarf
The secrets of winding a turban
A holiday that unites
After intellectual discussions, the guests tasted water from the Valiulla Chishmas spring, participated in the Korban Ashy, a ritual meal of unity, and visited the ancient graves of fellow countrymen.

“Korban ashy” is a traditional charity meal in Tatar culture, where participants eat cooked meat of a sacrificial animal together, strengthening spiritual unity and charity. This ancient rite symbolizes generosity, the memory of ancestors and caring for others.

In the evening, the village square turned into a concert venue. Tatar pop soloists Artur Mingazov, Guzaliya, as well as soloists of the Miraz ensemble (led by Safiullova Rima Gumerovna) Ramil and Lyasyan Ilyasov, Rushania Musina, Navil Ibragimov, Alsina Fayzullina, presenter, singer, Syasbel Bilalova performed to the applause of their fellow countrymen.
“Thank you for the memory that unites”
When the last chords of the festive concert faded away, and the first stars lit up in the sky above New Ishli, sincere gratitude could be read in the eyes of the villagers. “It’s like we’ve rediscovered the history of our native land,” said local resident Fania-apa.

Special words of appreciation were addressed to Rima Gumerovna Safiullova, a woman whose energy and dedication to traditions made this grandiose event possible. As the CEO of the agricultural company Kolos, the vice-president of the NGO International Women’s Union and just a loving granddaughter, she invested in this project not only funds, but also a piece of her soul.

“Such holidays are like a bridge between generations,” the guests of the event noted. “Thanks to Rima Gumerovna and all the organizers, our children saw how beautiful their native culture can be, and the elderly saw that their knowledge and memories are really valuable.”
This day was a real gift for everyone who came to their native village from different parts of Russia.

Memory transformed into a living tradition is the main result of these readings. And as long as there are people like Rima Gumerovna, as long as “Valiulla chishmase” is beating, as long as ancient melodies are playing, the connection of time will not be broken, which means that everything that is dear to us will have a future.
P.S. 2025 marks the 142nd anniversary of Valiulla Khasanov’s birth. But thanks to such meetings, his legacy continues – in scientific works, in songs, in skullcaps on the heads of young people. And this is probably the best memory.
