On April 28, 2025, the conference “Formation of Russian and Moscow Cultural Identity” was held in Moscow with the support of. The event was dedicated to issues of cultural identity in a multipolar world (the project is being implemented with the support of Grants from the Mayor of Moscow for socially oriented NGOs of the Committee for Public Relations and Youth Policy of the City of Moscow).
ВParticipated in the Conference as an expert speaker. Valdez Odriosola Maria Santiagovna, Candidate of Cultural Studies, certified tour guide, expert of the contest “Guides of Meanings” of the Rosmolodezh program “More than a journey”.The topic of the presentation is “New approaches to organizing sightseeing activities in Moscow using the example of creative local history.”

A century ago, when our country was faced with a choice of ways to further develop, local history as a method of learning about history and culture has gained unprecedented popularity so far. Currently, local history is more relevant than ever, but in a rapidly changing world, a continuous search for new forms of work in this area is necessary. The excursion and educational project “Creative local history (on the example of Tverskaya-Yamskaya streets)” is, first of all, a reinterpretation of the personal experience of the author, for whom Tverskaya-Yamskaya streets of Moscow are MORE THAN A BLOCK. This is the place where his conscious life and knowledge of the world began, this is the place where he lived most of his life and which he looked at from a scientific and methodological point of view, having developed a series of educational excursions for a youth audience. In searching for thematic areas of his work, the author relies on both current areas of youth policy and personal experience, answering the question, what did his native area give him for life and creativity? The author’s work with young people was based primarily on showing and telling, that is, sightseeing activities, which at the initial stage required conducting their own research of the area. The idea of the excursion component of the project arose due to the legacy of Boris Pasternak and the legacy of the “modern” era, including the A.L. Shanyavsky National University. For Boris Pasternak, the area of his childhood was one of the most terrible places in Moscow, for which there is much evidence, and Russian scientific schools were born within the walls of the National University, which was one of the symbols of the democratization of Russian education. Therefore, the author saw as the main task of sightseeing activities, despite the ambiguous history of the district, it is the creation of its positive image, as well as the creation of conditions for joint search with tourists for a creative component.
The aim of the project is to develop methodological recommendations for organizing excursions and local history work with young people, which, following the example of Tverskaya-Yamskaya Streets, could be used not only in other districts, but also in regions.
The proposed examples of excursions represent the concept of working with young people in the Tverskoy-Yamsky Streets area, namely, a series of case studies, guided tours, which are starting points and sources of inspiration for studying the history and culture of the area, as well as developing and implementing their own projects.
At the moment, the project includes five thematic tours of the Tverskoy-Yamsky Streets quarter in Moscow.:
