Амirova Alfiya, President of the International women’s Union , made a report on the topic “promotion of women entrepreneurs by means of national economy and Crafts. International festival “By Hands of a woman»:

“It is no secret that crafts are an integral part of the spiritual life and culture of any nation. Of course, the peoples of the Arctic are no exception. For example, on the territory of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) has historically formed traditional types of folk art such as: the art of carving on wood; artistic processing of birch bark; artistic bone carving; artistic metal processing; jewelry art; artistic processing of soft materials; simulation of clothing.

In Yamal, nhps are strongly linked to the life of the indigenous peoples of the North. There are enough masters and inventions, but it is difficult to find a mass buyer from the Arctic region. When there is not even a souvenir shop in a remote village, only long-standing connections and private orders help out.

Support for folk crafts is necessary not only for indigenous and small-numbered peoples of the North, but also for the Russian North. Folk crafts are not dead, but a very fragile industry that can quickly and irrevocably die out without the support of the state, of course in the first place.

Organizers of the international festival of Handicrafts and crafts “By Hands of a woman» the masters of the North are invited to take part in the festival, where they can :

present Your region at the 3rd international festival “By Hands of a woman” through folk arts and crafts, through the identity of women in Your region;
show the investment attractiveness of the region for women of small and medium-sized businesses;
tell us about the region’s tourist routes;
show the uniqueness and potential of the region’s souvenir products at the expense of NHP.
You have a unique opportunity to present the region in various directions during the festival»
