Viva l’Italia! Long live the Liberation! Long live the Republic of Italy!

Today, April 25, Italy celebrates the day of liberation from fascism (Festa della Liberazione). And we Congratulate our Italian friends on a Great holiday for Italy!!!!

Partisan resistance against fascism in Italy also played a major role in this Victory.

One of these partisans was Ferdinando Pascolo under the pseudonym “Silla” from Friuli.A soldier who fought on the side of the partisan resistance against fascism in Italy. In his 90 years, Ferdinando Pascolo wrote a historical novel “What an amazing guy”, in which he tells about himself and the events of world war II. The author finished his book with the words : “Enough weapons. Is quite wars. Enough torture. Frostbites’. Hanged. Deaths.Family. Work. That’s it!” our partner Professor Paulo Pascolo (son of Ferdinando Pascalo) honors the memory of his father and leads a great work among students, bringing them the historical truth about the Second world war.

The era of fascism, which began solemnly in 1922, led to tragic consequences for Italy and Italians. The local wars unleashed by Mussolini, and then the entry into the Second world war on the side of Nazi Germany, led to the impoverishment of the population and many victims.

On September 8, 1943, the partisan war against the Nazi occupation and Mussolini’s “Italian social Republic” began.

On April 25, 1945, the national liberation Committee in Milan declared a General uprising against Mussolini’s German occupiers and fascists, issued a decree to assume full power in the occupied territories, and announced Mussolini’s death sentence.

In April 1946, February 25 was declared a national holiday-the day of liberation from fascism.
