Important changes in the work of banks: Blocking of dubious transfers.

Since July 25, 2024, our financial system has faced major changes in the processing of bank transfers aimed at combating fraud. Let’s tell you how this will affect you and your business.

In the first quarter of 2024, the volume of fraud damage increased by 400 million rubles compared to the previous quarter, reaching 4.3 billion rubles. In order to strengthen the protection of client funds, the law “On the National Payment System” was amended, requiring banks to check each transfer for signs of fraud.

Key signs of fraudulent transfers:

  • Accounts in special registers of the Central Bank.
  • The use of accounts detected in fraudulent schemes.
  • Transactions from devices belonging to scammers.
  • Atypical transactions by amount, frequency, or time.

If the bank identifies the transaction as suspicious, it will be blocked until the circumstances are clarified. The client is given two days to confirm the voluntary transfer. In case of non-confirmation or inability to contact the client, the funds will be refunded to the account.
Recommendations:

  1. Keep an eye on the security of your banking transactions.
  2. If legal transfers are blocked, contact the bank immediately.
  3. Ensure reliable verification of your banking devices and accounts.
