This same date is considered Father’s Day and generally universal male holiday. Earlier in the day, all the cities were decorated with portraits of the king, images of symbols of the monarchy and yellow flags. Demonstrations and parades were held in the capital, which were broadcast live on television.

Since 2016, after the death of Rama IX, the festival has been held locally. In families congratulations to fathers, children give them a cute craft. However, Thais continue to wear yellow t-shirts on December 5-the color of Rama IX. They used to wear yellow and pink clothes, as pink in Thailand means wishing for a long life, but no longer for obvious reasons. Rama IX was born in 1928 in the United States, so he had American citizenship. He is the most revered person in Thailand. He was always an outspoken ruler-he traveled around the country a lot, talked to the peasants. He did a lot for the development of the state. In 2008, Forbes called him the richest monarch on Earth, often helping ordinary people out of their own funds.
