President of the International Women’s Union – Amirova Alfia received a letter of gratitude from the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Russia.
Thanks for bringing the gift of the Icon “St. Cyril and Methodius” the chapel of the Military memorials in Redipuglia.
Alfiya Amirova noted: “This is a credit to the whole team. The initiator of the creation of the icon and its donation was Marat Shakirzyanov, General Director of the Zur Art Foundation, Director for Eastern Europe of the association “Humanity inside War” (Italy), honorary member of the association “Humanity inside War”(Italy), Vice President of the “International Women’s Union”. The Zur Art Foundation is doing a lot of work together with the association “Humanity inside the War” (Italy) on the territory of the Russian Federation and Italy. I would also like to mention Anna Sviridova, founder of the Italian Culture and Language Club for the Older generation (55+), President of the Krugozor Foundation. Anna Sviridov contributed throughout the entire process of transferring the icon, which lasted several months, and helped with the official translation of documents.
For our part, I and our team thank everyone who helped us to do this. First and foremost Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Russia Mr. Pasquale Terraciano, Attache defense of the Italian Embassy in the Russian Federation, Brigadier-General, Mr. Alfonso miró, Assistant Attache defense of the Italian Embassy in the Russian Federation – Marco Petricca and all the Embassy staff. Recall icon handmade “Saints Cyril and Methodius” was donated to the chapel at the war memorial of Redipuglia (Italy). The icon is made by a Russian master – woman, participant and Winner of the Festival “By hands of a woman” -Olga Kulichkova, using a unique technology of knotting in a single copy and is an exact copy of the icon in the chapel at the Redipulia War Memorial.
