A working meeting was held today at the Moscow City Hall in the Department of National Policy and Interregional Relations of Moscow.
The meeting was attended by:

- President of the International Women’s Union – Amirova Alfiya
- Editor-in-chief of the Online publication “Embassy Life” – Shakirzyanov Marat
- Representatives of the National Policy Department
Alfiya Amirova spoke about the organization’s projects aimed at strengthening interethnic relations, including such as the International Festival “Hands of a Woman” and the International photo Contest “Mother and Children in national costumes”.
Marat Shakirzyanov spoke about the experience of implementing International and All-Russian projects that meet the goals and objectives of the national policy of the Russian Federation.
Dmitry Ernstovich and I discussed the implementation of projects with the support of the department at the site of the State Budgetary Institution “Moscow House of Nationality”.
Utlik D.E. also said that many events are held in Moscow that contribute to the cohesion of the multinational community of the city. The events are held both offline and online, which allows Moscow online events to be broadcast in regions far beyond the capital.
We discussed issues of further cooperation within the framework of the goals and objectives of the Department of National Policy of the Department of National Policy and Interregional Relations of the City of Moscow.
“If we help all the peoples living in Moscow to adapt, preserving their own identity, ethno-cultural diversity, revealing national color through national costumes, preserving national traditions and sharing them with a wide range of people of different nationalities, we will solve several tasks at different levels: support of national traditions, identity, creating a favorable climate in families, reducing the number of conflicts among children and teenagers in Moscow schools, easing tensions in the relations between different peoples and enriching the cultural unique heritage of Moscow – traditionally known as a multinational global metropolis.”- said the president of the “International Women’s Union” Amirova Alfiya.
The main task of the Department of National Policy of the Department of National Policy and Interregional Relations of the City of Moscow is to harmonize interethnic relations, strengthen the all-Russian civic identity and unity, promote the preservation of national cultures and traditions, maintain interethnic stability in the Moscow community, as well as interaction with national public associations of the city of Moscow.
The Department provides organizational and methodological support for the activities of the Council for Nationalities under the Government of Moscow, created to consolidate the efforts of the executive authorities of the city of Moscow and civil society institutions aimed at affirming the values of humanism in the public consciousness of the inhabitants of the metropolis, meeting the traditions of civil solidarity and interethnic harmony, promoting the rights of citizens to ethno-cultural development, prevention of discrimination on the grounds of racial, national, linguistic or religious affiliation, preservation and strengthening of the unity of the Moscow city community
