The global medical tourism market continues to grow annually by 25% and now its capacity is more than $ 600 billion. the share of countries with the most developed medicine (USA, Germany, France, South Korea, Israel) accounts for more than 60% of the world medical tourism market. At the same time, there is a process of redistribution of flows of medical tourists to those countries that most actively promote their services.
Not an exception is the United Arab Emirates, which began to develop inbound medical tourism and intend to become a serious player in this market. The international Congress World Medical Tourism Congress 2019 was held in Abu Dhabi on 15-17 October 2019. Representatives of ministries of health and tourism, insurance companies, medical tourism agencies from 90 countries, doctors were invited to the event. More than 100 people made presentations on medical tourism in the panel sessions.

She met with representatives of public and private clinics networks NMC, SEHA, Mediclinic, Cleveland Clinic. These medical institutions are equipped, as they say, with the latest technology. At the same time, UAE clinics rely on attracting qualified specialists of international level, which is a necessary condition for the country’s entry into the list of the most preferred destinations of medical tourism.
A good prerequisite for this, representatives of the Ministry of health of the UAE also consider the increase in the number of tourists to the Emirates, which by 2020 will reach 20 million people a year. It is a visit to the UAE for recreation can be combined with the passage of check-up in medical institutions.

The interest of the Arab side in attracting the strongest medical specialists opens up prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation in the medical tourism market. New areas of partnership are the result of the synthesis of knowledge and experience in communication at international medical congresses.

“The experience of ATLAS of Health group in conducting international events on the exchange of competencies between doctors can be translated into Arab countries in the context of the export of knowledge of Russian doctors. In turn, to promote the brand “Treatment in Russia” abroad, it is possible to take into account the experience of the UAE in terms of holding large – scale medical forums, marketing of medical services and attracting foreign investment,” concluded Anna Vasilets.
